I'm so excited to be kicking off the Malted Mystery and am sharing all about quilt kits options for the Mystery Quilt Along in this post :)
You do not need to purchase a kit to take part in the quilt along, you are free to use fabric you already have. But if you are interested in getting a kit of preselected fabrics for the quilt we have a bunch of kits that I personally selected from the Fat Quarter Shop and there are also options from Serge & Sew (Canadian quilting shop) and the Bear Creek Quilting Company.

Fat Quarter Shop
The Fat Quarter Shop kits are not single kit you can purchase, if you like the fabric combinations listed below, use the links to go to each fabric and place the amount listed into your cart to build your kit (affiliate links).
Note that 1/8 yard cuts were rounded up to the nearest 1/4 yard and these kit options include binding but do not include yardages for backing.

ReplyDeleteIf I want to make the Mystery Quilt bigger......are there fabric suggestions for doing that? I loved the last mystery quilt but wished it was a little bigger. It is not even bed size and it cannot be entered in some of the local fairs due to the size. Thanks.

DeleteI would suggest adding borders to this design if you would like to make it larger. How large the borders and if they are plain or pieced would affect the yardage requirements.
DeleteInteresting.............I sort of picked out fabric from one of my presorted bundles, something I like to play with when looking through my stash and am now unsure if it will be OK. I have 40+ years worth of in my stash (we call it my superannuation) and know that I shouldn't be buying, except for blender type yardage. I've used stash for the other mystery quilts I've done with you, so will probably go with my gut feeling and hope for the best. Thanks so much for doing another Mystery and...........oh no! Its just started raining here again (unhappy face). Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your mystery quits. Sew much fun. I like the red/blue and linear options except for the pinks. Not a fan. Will have to think about possible replacements.
