About Me

Hi there and welcome to my little corner of the internet!  I'm Cheryl Brickey and I live in South Carolina (but was born and raised in New Jersey).

Just a little about me: By day I work as an engineer and patent agent for a private textile and chemical company.  I enjoy seeing all of the new inventions being developed and I like that even if I am not sewing quilts during the day, I am still working with and learning about textiles.

I have always been crafty trying my hand at cake decorating, cooking, crocheting but always had a love for quilts (though there were no quilters in my family).  I decided to make my daughter a quilt for her "big girl" toddler bed so I went to Joann's and bought a cutting mat, rotary cutting, and ruler and armed with my mother's old 1980'a slant shank Singer and hours of visiting blogs and watching YouTube videos, I made my first quilt.  I have been hooked ever since.

I have two books published by Stash Publications, Modern Plus Sign Quilts (2018) and Just One Charm Pack Quilts (2021).

I love the online quilting community!  I have truly found a home online and I am very fortunate to be able to call some wonderful quilters friends.  I like having a two way conversation so I encourage comments and try to respond to each one.

If you want to take a look around my blog, you will find my latest finishes, tutorials, patterns, and popular yearly mystery quilt in the tabs at the top of the blog and on the sidebar.

You always reach me via email at Cheryl@Meadow-Mist-Designs.com.  Besides my blog, you can find me often on Instagram @MeadowMistDesigns and on Facebook.

I look forward to meeting you and exploring the world of quilting together!

  2. Hi there- can you please tell me how you did your Pi Quilt. Do you have the pattern for the numbers? I really love the way the numbers are pieced together. Most patterns I have found are with applique, however I prefer to piece them.

    Many thanks,
    Greg

  8. Hi Cheryl- just received your book Slash your Stash Just two Charm Pack Quilts. I was having a bad day today but when I opened it up you were kind enough to add a quick note and sign the book. This kind gesture was enough to turn my day around-Thank you!

  9. Hi there..I was the one who sent you the picture of the Mystery quilt that we did but I added the serpentine border. I just saw that you live in South Carolina. So do I! I live in Sumter. Moved here in March 2022. My favorite place in this town is Crowson's Quilts. I can't go in there without spending $$!
