Day 4 - Just One Charm Pack Quilts Book Hop

Welcome to the fourth day of the Just One Charm Pack Quilts book hop!  It has been such fun so far seeing each of the blog hop's participants' versions of the book quilts.  It is always amazing to me how different the book quilt designs look with different color and fabric placements.

Today, I will be sharing the Cat's Eye and the Circus Stars quilts from the book.  In addition to these quilts, Sandra from MMM quilts will be sharing her version of Blossom Chains.  I'll be sharing sneak peek image of Sandra's quilt so you can visit her blog to see the full quilt and learn more about her quilt and process.

JUST ONE CHARM PACK QUILTS COPIES

You can find copies of Just One Charm Pack Quilts on Amazon or get a signed copy in my shop.  As a bonus, if you purchase a signed copy from my shop, you can get one additional free stand-alone pattern (digital or printed) by using the code HOPPATTERN (through the end of the hop 7/29)

CAT'S EYE

Cat's Eye uses half square triangles for a concentric diamond design.  This was the first quilt I made for the book once I signed the contract with Stash Publications.  I have collected many different Bonnie and Camille (for Moda) fabric collections over the years and decided to use their Woven collection in this quilt.  For the quilting I used a stipple pattern, using a white thread in the white and print areas and a dark blue thread to match the navy areas.

For the second version of Cat's Eye, I created my own charm pack from my stash.  I began with a few prints from Maureen Cracknell (Art Gallery Fabrics) that I liked and then pulled some coordinating prints and solids to go with them.  I really like this combination of purples, golds, and oranges, with a few browns thrown in.

Here is one of the fun styled photos from the book, Cat's Eye looks great hanging in the crisp all white closet.

CIRCUS STARS

Circus Stars is a star design quilt that uses the charm packs to make the center and points of the star and the Fabric A (additional fabric) to make a fun sashing.  My version of Circus Stars used polka dots from Kaffe Fassett for FreeSpirit combined with a black and white striped fabric for the sashing.  The colors and stripes are what lead me to call the pattern Circus Stars.  I love the hot pink binding :)

Michelle B's version used Clementine by Melody Miller for Ruby Star Society and used a much softer pink solid for the sashing.  Michelle's version of Circus Stars is on the front cover of the book.
