Day 5 - Just One Charm Pack Quilts Book Hop

Today is the fifth day of the Just One Charm Pack Quilts book hop! We are about half way through the book hop and will be sharing the 9th and 10th quilts from the book: Cozy Cottages and Ninja.

In addition to these quilts, Myra from Busy Hands Quilts will be sharing her version of Ships Ahoy that she turned into a runner and Tish from Tish in Wonderland will share her version of Star Surround.  You can find copies of Just One Charm Pack Quilts on Amazon or get a signed copy in my shop.  As a bonus, if you purchase a signed copy from my shop, you can get one additional free stand-alone pattern (digital or printed) by using the code HOPPATTERN (through the end of the hop 7/29)

COZY COTTAGES

Who can resist cute little houses?  Cozy Cottages puts these houses in offset columns and a fun quilt perfect for a new addition to the family or as a wall quilt.  My version uses a charm pack of Olive’s Flower Market by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics against a light pink background.  Carol Alperin quilted a little cloud like design on this quilt.

Sarah S. made this second version of Cozy Cottages for the book.  I actually used two charm packs of Breeze by Zen Chic for Moda Fabrics in the book quilts, but separated them so all of the darker blue and pink prints were used in this quilt and the lighter blue prints were used in Fishes.

NINJA

Ninja is a twist on the classic ninja star block with the ninja blocks facing different directions for a little interest and a piano key border.  My version of Ninja Stars began with a fat quarter bundle of Flower Shop by Patty Sloniger for Michael Miller Fabrics which I cut up into charm squares.  I was able to use the extra fat quarter pieces to help piece the backing (second picture).

Cindy Lammon of Hyacinth Quilts made this second version of Ninja using Darlings by Ruby Star Society for Moda Fabrics.  I love how she used the straight line quilting to go with the direction of the ninja stars and move your eye around the quilt.

MYRA OF BUSY HANDS QUILTS - SHIPS AHOY

If you have been following along, you might notice that this is Myra's third quilt from the book.  I am so honored that she has made so many versions of the book quilts and I love them all!  Please head over to Myra's blog, Busy Hands Quilts, to check out this version of Ships Ahoy made into a runner and the other two quilts she made also (Runner version of Goose in the Pond and another Ships Ahoy).

TISH OF TISH IN WONDERLAND - STAR SURROUND

I am always excited to see how Tish makes one of my quilts because she has wonderful color sense and her quilting is amazing.  Her version of Star Surround does not disappoint!  You can see some of the beautiful quilting in this sneak peek, so head over to her blog, Tish in Wonderland, for full pictures pf the quilt.

See you tomorrow!
