You asked, and the answer was a resounding YES—let’s sew from our stash! ๐
I was blown away by the response to the quilt along survey—over 1,350 quilters chimed in, and the overwhelming consensus was clear: it's time for a stash-busting quilt along!I originally proposed three patterns—Peanut Butter Pinwheels, Wharf Street, and Flagstone Path—all beginner-friendly designs that work beautifully with scraps. While Peanut Butter Pinwheels was the top pick with over half of the votes, the votes for the other two were nearly tied.
So, why choose just one? Let’s include all three! That way, you can pick the pattern that best suits your scraps.
How the quilt along will work:
๐ Kickoff Date: Thursday, February 20th (plenty of time to grab a pattern & pick fabrics).⏳ Duration: 6 weeks, wrapping up on April 3rd. I'll post schedules for each of the three designs to keep you on track.
๐ Final Parade: Share your quilt top or finished quilt at the end.
๐ซ No Prizes—Just Fun: This is all about using what we have & enjoying the process.
๐ Weekly Posts: I'll be posting tips on fabric organization, scrap-busting ideas, and sewing techniques each week.
๐น The Challenge: Try to create your entire quilt—top, binding, and backing—using only fabric from your stash! No new fabric purchases needed.
This is going to be a fun, low-pressure quilt along, and I’d love to have you join in!
Who’s in? ๐งต✨

Want more than one? No problem! If you grab two, it’s $4.40 off, and all three would be $6.60 off.

I'm in! But I'm going to use a pattern of yours that I already own. How to decide??? ☺
ReplyDeleteHigh five, me too! I'm trying to cut down on purchases for this month.
DeleteLike this idea so much! Must reduce fabric on hand! I'm going to make another quilt from 'Just One Charm Pack'. I want to make every one in the book.
ReplyDeleteI am going to do this. I have my pattern, Flagstone Path printed and ready to go. I need to make a quilt and donate it to be auctioned off for my Grandson’s FFA auction to raise money for them. I have lots of fabric and all colors will work. I think my Grandson will be so happy I made a quilt for his auction.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cheryl. I really like Peanut Butter Pinwheels pattern. I am going to join this SBQA.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea. I'm going with the pinwheels pattern. I've got some blue tonal for the background and lots of leftover charms and scraps. I plan to frankenbat my batting.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant blog Vector Tracing
ReplyDeleteLooks like lots of fun, but I'm going to resist this one. I'm still not done with Marble Mystery. Looking forward to seeing everyone's scrappy stash projects.
ReplyDeleteSounds like great fun!
