My second entry to the festival is the Two-Tone version of my Plus Plus pattern. My post about the quilt and design can be found here and I am entering the quilt into the Small Quilts category.
For the two-tone version of Plus Plus, I made the baby size using Kona white and Kona silver and a red print from Maritime Modern from Riley Blake for the accent plus. I originally was going to use a dark gray binding but when went I to use it, it just did not look right. I tested many, many other prints and colors until I tried this new Lotta Jansdotter print (from her new collection at JoAnn's). The mustard yellow print worked perfectly.
My other entry Use Your Illusion is entered into the Original Design category and can be found here.

The geometric quilting in the pluses really adds a great secondary design element to this quilt. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the quilting on this one, the mix of straight lines and swirls is awesome
ReplyDeleteLove the quilting. I need to get a ruler toe foot and some rulers for my domestic machine.
ReplyDeleteAwesome quilting! Love the pops of color.
ReplyDeleteThe color of the binding is perfect--adds a nice zing without overpowering the main quilt. And the quilting is such a nice surprise on a close view!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the look of white and gray with a bit of red. Really great looking quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love that red plus! The yellow binding looks great, and I'm impressed that you could quilt the pluses with a continuous line of quilting. I have a ruler for my domestic machine, but I don't have an extended bed for it, so I find the ruler hard to use. One of these days...
ReplyDeleteI just love this quilt Cheryl! Congrats on using your ruler, it gets a little addicting doesn't it? :) I use mine for stitching in the ditch in free motion - it actually speeds up the process once you get in the grove and makes it more accurate!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful striking and simple quilt- very effective!
