Morewood Mystery Quilt

Welcome to the Morewood Mystery Quilt page!  This is my sixth mystery quilt along and I am so excited for it to start.  This page contains all of the information about the quilt along and links to all of the instructions.

The Morewood Mystery Quilt is a free quilt-along that will run from July 2020 through April 2021 with a set of directions revealed the first Thursday of every month. The Morewood Mystery is a lap size design, that can easily be made larger with the addition of borders.

ALL ABOUT LINKING UP

I have created a page that answers frequently asked questions, instructions on how to link your quilt up, and the actual quilt link up. You can go to the page here.

Click here for more information and to link up your quilt top / quilt

1. Quilt-along Instructions - The monthly instructions will always be posted to my blog as blog posts (and can always be found on this page as well as in the Mystery Quilt tab above). Now that the Mystery Quilt has ended, you can find a easy to print, full version of the pattern for sale in my pattern shop.

2. Videos - Each Friday after the monthly instructions are posted, I use Facebook Live to post about the instructions and give some tips and tricks for the month.  These videos are uploaded to my Meadow Mist Designs Youtube channel so you can easily find and view them.  Be sure to subscribe to the Youtube channel to make sure you do not miss any :)

3. Prizes - There are over $1,000 worth of prizes from 16 sponsors!  These prizes will be given out randomly to those that take part in the reveal parade in April 2021 (finished quilt tops and finished quilts).

4. Facebook Group - We have almost 8,000 active members in our Facebook Group (Meadow Mist Designs Facebook Group) sewing together! Join the group today so you can share and see everyone else's fabric, progress pictures, and finished quilts.

5. Previous Mystery Quilts - The instructions for my previous mystery quilts are located in the Mystery Quilt tab above (and are always available so you can start them at any time).

  11. This is my first time and I am confused on what to do. Do I buy material on my own? Do I order a kit? The pattern will reveal on July 2, then I buy material. I don't want to be behind before we get started. I signed up and really have no idea what I am doing, I just want to quilt and learn things. Should this be right for me?

  17. Dr to finances I need to work from my stash, no buying any new fabrics for this one!😢My question, I have several 2-3 yd cuts that will work for backgrounds. How can I make a two fabric background work? Thanks!

    1. Choose two fabrics that are. Similar in value/color/tone and use as if they are the same fabric. It will make a wonderful background.
