Welcome to the Magnolia Mystery Quilt page! The Magnolia Mystery Quilt was my 4th mystery quilt and I had such fun quilting along with everyone!
The Magnolia Mystery Quilt was a free quilt-along that ran from July 2017 through March 2018 with a set of directions revealed the first Thursday of every month. The Magnolia Mystery quilt contains instructions for two quilt sizes, a lap sized quilt and a queen sized quilt.
Now that the Magnolia Mystery Quilt Along has been completed, you can get the instructions for free as part of the instruction blog posts below or you can go to Etsy for a full set of easy to print pdf instructions for sale:

1. Quilt-along Instructions - (Note that these have changed since the Meadow Mystery Quilt)
The monthly instructions will be posted to my blog as blog posts (and can always be found on this page as well as in the Mystery Quilt tab above). The instruction posts will contain the monthly piecing instructions as well as a link to an easily printable pdf that you can print and download. The pdf's will be available until the reveal parade and then a pdf of the full pattern will be available for sale via Etsy (but the instructions will always remain in the blog posts).
To make sure that you do not miss any posts, make sure that you are subscribed to the blog (here are some links for following... Bloglovin, Email).
2. Button - I have made a button for the mystery quilt :) If you decide to join in on the quilt-a-long and have a blog I would love it if you posted the button.
3. Prizes - We will have prizes! Prizes will be given out randomly to quilters who submit quilts or quilt tops to the reveal parade in February 2018. We have over $1000 in prizes from 15 generous sponsors! Learn more about the sponsors and prizes here: Post 1, Post 2, Post 3
4. The Un-Mystery Quilt - Want to join in the fun but making a mystery quilt is not your thing? If you would like to see the final pattern to decide whether to join in, or to help pick colors; simply e-mail me (MMDmysteryquilts@gmail.com) and I will send you a sneak peak (the only rule is that you have to keep the design completely to yourself as to not spoil anyone else's surprise).
5. Facebook Group - We have over 2,200 active members in our Facebook Group (Meadow Mist Designs Facebook Group) sewing together! Join the group today so you can share and see everyone else's fabric, progress pictures, and finished quilts.
6. Previous Mystery Quilts - The instructions for my previous mystery quilts are located in the Mystery Quilt tab above (and are always available so you can start them at any time).

Looking so forward to making this quilt :)
ReplyDeleteMe too!
ReplyDeleteWould love to try my hand at your mystery quilt.
ReplyDeleteHave my fabric & am ready to go. Am looking forward to it & hope I can keep up. Thanks & take care.
ReplyDeleteThis waiting is KILLING MEEEEEEEE
ReplyDeleteLess than a week until we start cutting :)
DeleteI love love love your mysteries !
ReplyDeleteWould a directional print work with this pattern?
ReplyDeleteA directional print will wind up facing in multiple directions in the finished quilt. If you are okay with this then it is fine to use, if you would prefer to have the directional print facing all the same way then I would suggest not using one. I hope that helps :)
DeleteI must be overlooking your suggestion for color palette, or fabric recommendations. Prints vs solids. Please direct me to that information. Thank you
ReplyDeleteYou can find some fabric options right here:
