I am making some blocks (as wall art and pillows) instead of a larger quilt. My first block uses some Carolyn Friedlander fabrics: Doe Crisscross in blue for the rings and Doe Breeze in sky for the background. Here are some in progress pictures.
I have my first Rin block basted using wool batting (this is the first time I am using wool batting and I am enjoying how poofy it is) and I plan to hand quilt it along the lines in the background fabric.
Love the fabrics you are using. I've used wool batting and absolutely loved quilting with it - I hope you do too!
ReplyDeleteThat background is perfect for this quilt! You've made me consider wool batting - need to look for some now.
ReplyDeleteLove your fabrics and can't wait to see it quilted. I'll be interested in your hand quilting reviews of the wool batting.
ReplyDeleteI like that you started with very iconic Carolyn Friedlander fabric. The blues look great together and in her pattern this way.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics for this one! I like how the background has a stripe, but subtle. I am anxious to see your quilting with the wool batting. I've only used wool batting once.
ReplyDeleteI quite interested to hear how everyone is going to quilt these blocks. I've my first one done and basting the second! Yours looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteVery, very nice!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics you have chosen for your block. Following the designs in the background print for your quilting lines is a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics you are using. Hand quilting is so relaxing! Enjoy :)
