Welcome to the start of the Mosaic Mystery Quilt!!
I am so excited to get started and I hope you are too!
About the Quilt Along - As a reminder, the Mosaic Mystery Quilt is a free quilt along hosted on my blog (all instructions will be posted here) running from July 2019 through March2020 with a set of directions revealed the first Thursday of every month. The lap-sized mystery quilt is at an advanced beginner level containing basic piecing techniques (no applique, Y-seams, or paper piecing).
The directions and all of the other information related to the mystery quilt can always be found on the Mosaic Mystery Quilt Page.
Facebook Group - I encourage you to join the Meadow Mist Designs Facebook Group (if you have not already). We now have almost 4,000 members in the group and I am so excited for the members to start sharing pictures of their fabric picks. If you want some feedback on possible fabric choices or have any questions during the quilt along, the Facebook is an excellent resource. Please share your progress pics on social media with the hashtag #MosaicMysteryQuilt and tag me at @MeadowMistDesigns.
Sponsors - We have 18 generous sponsors and over 44 prizes being awarded in monthly in-progress and reveal parade giveaways. You can read about the sponsors and prizes here.
Monthly Prize Linkup - The linkup to post your fabric selections (and be eligible for July's monthly prizes) will be posted on the second Thursday of the month (July 11th) and will be open until 11:55pm on the last day of the month (July 31st). Most details about the prizes and sponsors for the month will be posted next week.
Fabric Kits - On this post right below the fabric selection tips are some fabric kits available from the Bear Creek Quilting Company and the Needle and Foot companies. They put together some beautiful fabrics that look great in the mystery quilt design!
Unmystery Quilt - If you signed up for the un-mystery quilt option, you should receive an e-mail showing the design, some colorway options, the kit options, and a quilt top coloring page around 7 am (EST) today (July 4th). You can e-mail me at MMDmysteryquilts@gmail.com if you have any questions or do not receive the file.
If you would like a sneak peek now, you can click the following link get one:

Remember, the only rule is that you have to keep the design completely to yourself as to not spoil anyone else's surprise.
Instructions

And now without further ado....July's instructions...
Fabric Requirements
The Mosaic Mystery quilt is a lap sized quilt and contains 4 different fabrics in the quilt top:
Fabric Selection Tips
Within these quilt instructions, the following colors will be used to represent the fabrics:
- It is suggested that a solid or a tone-on-tone print that reads as a solid be used for the background fabric.
- Due to the finished fabric piece sizes and piecing methods for the quilt top, it is recommended that fabric prints used have a non-directional design.
- Each of the fabric yardages above may be made using scraps of similar colors instead of a single fabric if desired. Generally, the pieces within the quilt will be 6 ½" x 6 ½" or smaller.
- Within the quilt, each of the fabrics A, B, and C are adjacent the background fabric, but none of the fabrics A, B, or C are next to each other.
- In these instructions, the background is shown as white, but the quilt design looks very good with other colors and tones of background (light, medium, and dark) as long as the fabrics A, B, and C have good contrast with the background color.
- You can use any fabric you would like for the border (it will be next to the background fabric and none of the fabrics A-C). In the instructions, fabric A will be used for the border.
