Willow Lily Pattern Release

🌱It's pattern release day! Willow Lily is now available!

You all know I love charm squares and I love half-square triangles and Willow Lily is the perfect combination of the two. It is simple to make, beginner friendly, and can highlight your favorite prints.

If you liked my Just One Charm Pack Quilts and Just Two Charm Pack Quilts books, then you will love Willow Lily. The pattern contains instructions for 3 sizes: lap, throw, and twin.

The lap size uses just one charm pack plus an additional fabric and a background fabric. The throw and twin sizes use just two charm packs plus an additional fabric and a background fabric.

LOVE ALWAYS VERSION

The main (lap sized) cover version of Willow Lily used the Love Always collection by Anna Maria Horner for FreeSpirit Fabrics along with Moda Bella Solids in white and charcoal. I used a fat quarter bundle that I cut into charm squares.

I love the colorfulness of this collection and how it pops against the dark gray. I used some leftover fat quarters and some yardage of an older Anna Maria Horner print for the backing.

For the quilting, I used an all over paisley design. I thought that curved quilting played well with the straight lines in the piecing.

FLOWER GARDEN VERSION

I made a second lap sized version of Willow Lily using the Flower Girl collection by Heather Briggs for Moda Fabrics along with Moda Bella Solids in white and gray. This is Heather's debut collection for Moda Fabrics and I love how soft the colors are.

I am always amazed at how different a quilt looks by changing out the colors and prints!

For the quilting, I used an all over meandering design. I love the crinkly texture that a meander gives a quilt. It make it look like it is already been loved and washed.

Willow Lily contains lap, throw, and twin sizes and uses 1 charm pack (lap) or 2 cham packs (throw and twin) along with an additional fabric and a background fabric.
