EQ8 FOR BEGINNERS
EQ for Beginners gets new EQ users acquainted to EQ8 allowing them to leave the pencil and graph paper behind when they learn the basic functions and explore the versatility of EQ8. This is a hands on computer class and students must bring their own laptop computers with EQ8 already installed.
Some topics that will be covered include: how to navigate the block and quilt worktables, use library blocks and fabrics, create your own blocks, and build a quilt top using different blocks, block settings, colors, fabrics. sashing, borders, and more.
ALL ABOUT USING FABRICS IN EQ8
This workshop focuses on everything fabric for EQ8. Want to learn to import fabric images, resize and fussy cut them, and create your own fabric libraries? This is an intermediate EQ8 class which assumes that students have a basic understanding of EQ8 and can navigate the program. This is a hands on computer class and students must bring their own laptop computers with EQ8 already installed.
This workshop will teach how to transform fabrics within EQ8 using the Design tab and the Fabric Workshop, import fabrics in three different ways, and create custom libraries and default libraries so the fabrics are ready to use in every project.
MODERN QUILT DESIGN USING EQ8
Ready to design modern quilts using EQ8? Learn how to use the three different quilt layouts (Horizontal Grid, Horizontal/Vertical Strip, and Custom) to get your modern quilt ideas out of your sketchbook and into EQ8. This is an intermediate EQ8 class which assumes that students have a basic understanding of EQ8 and can navigate the program well. This is a hands on computer class and students must bring their own laptop computers with EQ8 already installed.
This workshop will teach how to incorporate modern design aesthetics such as negative space, alternative grid, multiple sized blocks into EQ8 designed quilts.
MODERN STRIP PIECING
This workshop is geared towards beginners and focuses on the techniques of strip piecing (cutting, sewing, and pressing) and how strip piecing can be used to create modern quilts. Quilters will learn how to sew techniques for successful strip piecing including: a scant quarter inch seam allowance, accurate measuring and cutting, and pressing. Quilters will then practice strip piecing to
create a modern quilt.
