Marigold Mystery Quilt ++ Quilt Kits

I'm so excited to be kicking off the Marigold Mystery and am sharing all about quilt kits options for the Mystery Quilt Along in this post :)

You do not need to purchase a kit to take part in the quilt along, you are free to use fabric you already have.  But if you are interested in getting a kit of preselected fabrics for the quilt we have a bunch of kits that I personally selected from the Fat Quarter Shop.

You can find the introductory post all about fabric requirements for the Marigold Mystery quilt here.

In the sneak peek file, you can see each of the kits rendered into the quilt top.

The kits are not single kit you can purchase, if you like the fabric combinations listed below, use the links to go to each fabric and place the amount listed into your cart to build your kit (affiliate links).

Note that ⅛ yard cuts were rounded up to the nearest ¼ yard and these kit options include binding but do not include yardages for backing.  All links are affiliate links

FABRIC KITS

You do not need to purchase a fabric kit to take part in the mystery quilt along, but if you would like to use a fabric kit there are many options.  I put the fabric kit information into its own post (also posting today at the same time today) to keep this post from being too long.  You can find the quilt kits here.

UN-MYSTERY QUILT - SNEAK PEEK OPTION

The sneak peek is now available :)  You can find the un-mystery quilt sneak peek pdf right here:

Sneak Peek of Marigold Mystery Quilt

EASY TO PRINT INSTRUCTIONS

PATTERN NOTES

  • The mystery quilt has a main layout and an alternative layout.
  • Width of fabrics (WOF) for this pattern is assumed to be 40".
  • A scant ¼" (a thread width smaller than ¼") seam is to be used throughout the construction of the quilt unless otherwise instructed.

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS

  • It is suggested that a solid or a tone-on-tone print that reads as a solid be used for fabric A and the background fabric.
  • Due to the finished fabric piece sizes and piecing methods for the quilt top, it is recommended that fabric prints used have a non-directional design.
  • To help plan your fabrics for the mystery quilt:
  • Prints: Pick prints with a variety of colors and/or prints and have good contrast with Fabrics A, B, and background.
  • Fabric A is next to both Fabric B and the background
  • Fabric B is next to the print fabrics,      Fabric A, and the background fabric.
  • Fabric B can be scrappy too, preferably using a variety of similar colors.
