It's pattern release day! Wharf Street is now available!
This pattern is the perfect design for the times you just want to use up your stash and get sewing quickly. Over the Christmas/New Year holiday I just wanted to do some simple and easy sewing, no marking, trimming, or seams to match. That is how Wharf Street was born :)
The digital version of Wharf Street is available in my shop and Etsy and the print version of Wharf Street is available as pre-order in my shop.

ABOUT THE DESIGN
My favorite quilt unit is the half-square triangle and I love stars and other intricate designs. But sometimes I just want to sew will less worry about accuracy, matching seams, and trimming of blocks :)
Wharf Street is one of those designs that look good in so many different fabrics (see renderings including some holiday versions below) that require very little cutting before sewing. Strip piecing is used to construction this quilt with almost no seams to match making this a perfect pattern for beginners (or a quick finish for more advanced sewers).
The throw sized Wharf Street quilt is made using either a jelly roll or 12 fat quarters plus some background yardage.
Here is Turtle testing out the coziness of the quilt :)
ABOUT THE FABRIC & QUILTING
To make my version of Wharf Street, I pulled out all of my warm colored solid fat quarters and yardage. I wanted to sew with some bright and happy colors to counteract the cold winter. I paired the colors with a white background to make them pop in the quilt top.For the quilting, I used the horizontal seam lines in the quilt top to keep the spacing for my lines of cursive "e". I worked each row like a typewriter, starting at the left side and "writing" to the right. I think that the curved design pairs well with the linear nature of the quilt design.
I used a light purple for the backing I had in my stash which shows off the quilting nicely. I bound the quilt in a dark purple as a frame.
PATTERN DETAILS
The jelly roll and fat quarter friendly pattern is beginner friendly and finishes at 58 ½" x 66 ½", a perfect throw size for snuggling under.
