North Carolina Quilt Symposium ++ I'll be Teaching

Looking for a fun quilting retreat in a great location?  I am happy to announce that I will be teaching at the North Carolina Quilt Symposium in May and would love to see you there :)

The 3-day retreat this year is May 2 – 5, 2019 at the Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center which is about a half an hour drive west of Asheville, NC. The retreat center is nestled in the majestic Blue Ridge & Smoky Mountains. In registering for boarding, all of your meals are included too.

New this year, the quilt symposium is having a day of business seminars on the first day of the symposium. Three 2-hour long lectures include:
  • From Design Idea to Full Pattern – Quilt Pattern Writing 101
  • From Play to Profit: Starting Your Own Quilting Business
  • Books, Patterns and Instructions, Oh My! Self-Publishing for the Novice Writer
I am excited to be teaching the pattern writing section and looking forward to sharing my process of pattern writing.

I will also be teaching a 6-hour version of my Subtracting for Minimalism technique and a 6-hour workshop on my Ruby Roads pattern.

There are tons of other wonderful teachers and workshops during the weekend from Amanda Murphy, Carole Lyles Shaw, and Michelle Wilkie.

  1. Congratulations on being asked to speak, that symposium was fun when I went last time it was in Flat Rock. I can't make it this year. Lake Junaluska is really pretty.

  5. Congratulations on teaching there! That's so close to where my younger son lives, but I'm staying away because his life is a mess. Maybe I could sneak over ... it's only about 3 hours. =) Every year, I think about going.
