My friend Laura (etsy store MzSweetpeaStudio) is participating in the Village Square Art and Craft Show in Highlands, North Carolina on June 20-21 and she invited me to put some pincushions and thread catchers in her booth. Sharing a booth sounded a whole lot less scary and more fun. I said yes and prepping for the craft show. (Which came at a great time because my Etsy shop has gotten pretty low on handmade goods.) Here are the new finishes I have made for the craft fair...
16 combined cathedral window pincushions. (Remind me not to made to make so many at one time ever again, each step took forever...)
6 modern quilted pincushions (I just love the stag with the glasses!)
5 cathedral window pincushions, I just can't stop making these.
I will be listing all of these handmade goodies in the Etsy shop over the next few days. I hope that if you are in the Asheville area, you will stop by the Village Square Art and Craft Show in June.
I will be posting after the craft fair to give my thoughts on whether it was worth it, what sold, what did not sell, and my learnings.
I am linking up to Link a Finish Friday, Whoop Whoop Friday, Thank Goodness Its Finished Friday, Finish It Up Friday, Fabric Frenzy Friday, and Show Off Saturday @ Sew She Can.
All those creations are beautiful. I particularly love the cathedral window pincushions. They are gorgeous. Everything is eye catching and I wish you success for the craft show!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I hope you have a fantastic time! How cool seeing all the thread catchers and pin cushions together! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThose thread catchers are so pretty! Worth every laboring step on the pincushions. ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl, Just wanted to tell you how pretty I think your pattern is for the thread catchers. I've made several of them years ago, but yours' are so much more attractive. Would you mind letting me know where you found the pattern for these, as I would love to make them to give as gifts for my sewing friends. I used to do Craft Shows with my ceramics, back in another life, and that was difficult because of the weight involved with the finished pieces. After 20+ years of teaching Ceramics, I switched to sewing and quilting, which I do strictly for family members (32), and believe me, that's a whole lot of sewing going on! I wish you the best of luck with your first Craft show and I know you will enjoy the meet and greet part of it as well. lv2bquilting2@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteI love going to Highlands! Will have to see what is going on that weekend. Your sets are so cute, they are sure to do well.
ReplyDeleteWell, you know how much I love your pincushions :)
ReplyDeleteThese look brilliant! With those beautiful colours and your workmanship, they are going to get a lot of attention. Have fun!!!

OMG I just love that stag too!! LOL And the cathedral windows ones are so pretty! (and ya, I can see that they'd be time-consuming making that many at once!!)
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful collection of gorgeous makes! Congrats on all these finishes. I hope you sell lots :)
ReplyDeleteI love the stag with the glasses too. Both the pin cushions and thread catches are beautiful. I hope they are they sell out!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pincushions!
ReplyDeleteYour pincushions are so nice, especially the cathedral window ones. I've made a couple and they are time consuming! Good luck on the show, I hope you do well!
ReplyDeleteOMG, I love those cathedral window pincushions and thread catchers. I wonder if I can convince my Dad (he lives in Waynesville) to go and get me one. Cathedral windows are on my bucket list but I've yet to attempt them.
ReplyDeleteWow, such lovely work. I've never tried cathedral windows, but they are definitely on my list sometime! I think sharing a booth is a great idea if it's your first time out to a real-life craft sale. I've been in a couple of shows and they are a ton of work - so it's nice to share the load! Thanks so much for linking up with TGIFF!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful makes, Cheryl! I'm totally crushing on those pincushions - the stags in sunnies are fabulous, but my heart beats faster whenever I see those Cathedral window ones. Super cute! No wonder you can't resist making more.
ReplyDeleteWish you luck with the craft fair and look forward to hearing about the experience. Sounds like a fun time and will be even more fun because you're sharing a booth. Good luck in all your preparations for it!
