Meadow Mystery Quilt - My Fabrics

I have been completely blown away by the response to the Meadow Mystery Quilt and I am so excited to be quilting along with such wonderful quilters!  You can find the fabric requirements and some helpful fabric picking tips right here (and all of the Meadow Mystery Quilt posts are up in the tab above)

Our Facebook Group is now up to almost 1,100 quilters and we are having such fun sharing our fabric picks.  You can join in on the fun right in our Facebook group right here.

For Meadow Mystery Quilt, I am going to be making two versions:

Gentle Breezes

I will be making my first mystery quilt from Bear Creek Quilting Company's fabric kit using Gentle Breezes by Maywood Studio (which was generously given to me by Bear Creek).  I love the blues in this kit and the fabrics feel wonderful.  Look at the beautifully packaged kit, I hated to break it apart :)  (You can read more about this and the other kits here.)

The fabrics correspond to the following fabric sets in the pattern:

Modern Text

I am going to make my second Meadow Mystery a bit more modern, using some of my favorite horded text prints, combining black, blue, and pickle green fabrics together.

(Sorry I have no idea why I switched the placement of the C and D fabrics for the picture)

The fabrics correspond to the following fabric sets in the pattern:

Fabric A - Carkai Pickle Tic Yardage
Fabric B - Suzuko Koseki, Newspaper Print Retro in Blue
Fabric C - Mama Said Sew by Sweetwater - Sewing Guide Black
Fabric D - Architextures Crosshatch in Pickle by Carolyn Friedlander
Fabric E - Kona White

I am excited to start cutting into my fabrics, I hope you are too!

I am linking up with Let's Bee Social at Lorna @ Sew Fresh Quilts and Needle and Thread Thursday at Kelly @My Quilt Infatuation.

  1. Oh my! I'm really loving the Modern Text one. I've only got one fabric so far, one yard of a low volume.

  7. Although I am favouring the modern text version, I can't wait to see it made in the floral prints as well. Have fun :)

  13. I like both of your choices. I think I've got my fabrics chosen, I'm going to stare at them one more day to be sure I'm still happy with them before I post them.

  14. I love your modern picks! I've been going back and forth with mine. I'm really trying to use my stash for this, but I'm having a really hard time finding a nice set of fabrics i have enough of. I just might have to do some shopping after all... Oh well! :-)
